About this product
Sidr honey, called beri ka shahad in Urdu, comes from bees that feed on the blossoms of the Sidr (beri, Ziziphus) tree. It is darker and richer than everyday honey, with a deep, slightly caramel taste. Ours is raw and unfiltered, in 1kg and 500g glass jars. Our listing states it is from wild beri trees in the Karak and Himalayan areas.
Sidr honey price in Pakistan: 1kg Rs 4,200, 500g Rs 2,100
Both sizes work out to Rs 420 per 100g. Sidr honey prices vary because beri trees flower only once a year, so supply is limited. Raw honey also costs more than heated or blended honey, and the region and season make a difference too. For the delivery charge on your order, check at checkout or ask on WhatsApp 0305 5928890.
What Sidr (beri) honey is
Season
Beri trees bloom once a year, so Sidr honey is seasonal and comes in small batches.
Taste and colour
Amber to dark, thick, smooth, rich and a little herbal.
In English and Urdu
Sidr honey = beri ka shahad (بیری کا شہد). The same honey is sometimes called "beri honey".
Sidr vs acacia honey
Sidr is darker and richer; acacia (babul/palosa) honey is lighter and milder for daily tea. Full comparison: Sidr vs acacia honey.
How to choose Sidr honey in Pakistan
- Check the honey type on the label (Sidr/beri, not "mixed flower").
- Check the net weight and price per 100g (ours: Rs 420 per 100g in both sizes).
- Check whether it is raw/unfiltered (raw honey may crystallise).
- Check that the seller answers questions about source and season.
- Our listing states the honey comes from wild beri trees in the Karak and Himalayan areas; ask us on WhatsApp for details.
Asli shahad ki pehchan: simple home checks
- Taste: real honey tastes layered, not just sugary.
- Thickness: a drop on your thumb holds its shape, while thin syrup spreads.
- Crystallising is natural: raw honey can turn thick and grainy in winter. That does not mean it is fake (asli shahad jam jata hai). Stand the jar in warm water to soften it.
These are indicators, not a lab test. More detail is in our Sidr honey guide.
How to use Sidr honey
- One spoon in warm (not boiling) water or milk.
- On roti, paratha or bread at breakfast.
- With ginger and lemon in a winter drink, a common household tradition.
- In kesar doodh with a few threads of our Herat saffron.
Storage
Keep it tightly closed in the glass jar in a cool, dry place. Use a dry spoon, because water spoils honey. No need to refrigerate; the fridge makes it crystallise faster.
Who should be careful
- Never give honey to babies under 1 year.
- Honey is mostly natural sugar. If you have diabetes or any medical condition, speak to your doctor before adding it to your diet.
- Honey is a food, not a medicine.
